Walks and hikes in Nice

1. Mont Boron Park
Located between Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer, the Parc du Mont Boron is a haven of peace. The paths wind through a forest of Aleppo pines, holm oaks and carob trees. In autumn, the park is transformed into an array of colours, with breathtaking views over the Baie des Anges and the harbour at Villefranche. The trails are well signposted and offer something for everyone.

2. The Colline du Château
The Colline du Château, located between Nice's old town and the port, is a must for an autumn walk. Although the château no longer exists, the park offers spectacular views over the city and the sea. The brightly-coloured trees and waterfalls add a touch of magic to this walk. Climb up to the belvedere for a breathtaking panorama of Nice.

3. The Sentier du Littoral at Cap Ferrat
The Sentier du Littoral, which runs around the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, is a must-do coastal walk. In autumn, the Mediterranean vegetation takes on golden and reddish hues, contrasting with the intense blue of the sea. The trail offers exceptional views of cliffs, coves and luxury villas. Prepare to be amazed by the natural beauty of this trail.

4. The Parc Estienne d'Orves
This 15-hectare park in the hills above Nice is a little-known gem. In autumn, the paths in the Parc Estienne d'Orves wind through shimmering meadows and groves. The panoramic views over the city and the sea are particularly impressive at this time of year. It's the perfect place for a quiet stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

5. The Mercantour : Vallée des Merveilles
A little further from Nice, the Mercantour National Park offers spectacular scenery, especially in autumn. The Vallée des Merveilles, famous for its rock engravings, is decked out in autumn colours that accentuate the wild beauty of this site. Walks in this valley are a true journey through time and nature, offering breathtaking panoramas of mountains and lakes.

6. The Canal de Gairaut Trail
This path runs alongside the Vésubie canal and offers a peaceful stroll through lush vegetation. In autumn, the leaves of the trees turn red, orange and yellow, creating an idyllic setting. 7. Parc Phoenix

Parc Phoenix, to the west of Nice, is a botanical and zoological park well worth a visit in autumn. The themed gardens and ponds are transformed into a symphony of colours, providing a magnificent setting for a stroll. The tropical greenhouses and children's play areas make it a popular spot for families.


8. The Nietzsche Trail in Èze

For a more challenging walk, take the Chemin de Nietzsche, linking Èze-sur-Mer to the hilltop village of Èze. This steep path offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding countryside, decked out in its autumn colours. On arrival, the medieval village of Èze, with its cobbled streets and exotic gardens, is the perfect reward after your effort.  Back
